Mod-V Aluminium Bass Boat Designed for Serious Fishing
The Fury 500 is a purpose-built aluminium bass boat designed for stability, deck space and practical fishing. It is built around a wide, stable hull platform, with features chosen for real bass fishing rather than cosmetic fit-out.
At 5.0 m long with a 2.2 m beam, the Fury 500 gives you a large usable fishing platform for its length, while staying easy to tow, launch and power. The wide beam and reverse-chine hull add stability when you fish and predictable handling under power.

Hull and Deck
The modified-V hull (10° deadrise) is tuned for bass fishing and handles shallow water. Reverse chines improve stability at rest and reduce spray when running.
The large front and rear decks let anglers fish comfortably from either end. The deck layout prioritises open, uncluttered working space and is finished in 16 oz marine carpet.
The welded, integrated deck structure gives a stable platform with virtually no perceptible deck flex underfoot.
Why aluminium?
The Fury 500 is built from welded marine-grade aluminium because it suits the way South African anglers really fish: launching off rough slipways, nosing into rocky banks and covering big dams on a sensible motor. Here's what that means on the water:
- Built tough: a fully welded aluminium hull is made to take knocks from rocks, stumps, jetties and slipways, and a competent aluminium welder can repair it.
- No rot, no soak: there's no timber in the structure, and the SPX closed-cell flotation doesn't absorb water, so there's nothing hidden to rot.
- Efficient power: designed for 60–115 hp outboards (90 hp recommended). A modest motor costs less to buy, fuel and service, and the rig is easy to tow.
- Shallow-water access: the hull draws little water, so you can reach shallows and backwaters where the fish hold.
- Space for the length: the 2.2 m beam gives a front deck with room for two anglers to fish at once.

Storage and Layout
- A full-length 2.4 m rod locker is built into the deck structure, with a rod ramp for stowing rods when running.
- A recessed cooler-box hatch between the seats keeps your cooler secure without taking up deck space.
- Deck hatches use bass-boat-style recessed nylon and stainless latches and heavy-duty gas struts.
- Hatches are placed and sized for easy access without compromising deck strength.
- A plumbed livewell (500 GPH pump with aerator) is integrated into the deck for proper fish care on long sessions.
Power & Efficiency
- Rated for 60–115 hp outboards, with 90 hp recommended.
- Efficient hull shape for planing and cruising on modest power.

10-year structural weld warranty
We build every Drakōn hull to last, and we stand behind our welds. Every Drakōn boat carries a 10-year structural weld warranty, and it transfers to subsequent owners for the rest of the 10-year term. If a structural weld on the hull, transom or deck structure fails through a defect in materials or workmanship, we will repair it at no cost to you.
The warranty doesn't cover damage from impact, grounding, collision, accidents, misuse, overpowering beyond the rated 60–115 hp, unauthorised modifications or repairs, galvanic or electrolytic corrosion, or normal wear to paint, carpet, upholstery and fitted equipment. Outboards, electronics and other bought-in components carry their manufacturers' warranties.
